Task 3: Campaign Branding
Logo Progression
Week 4 & 6

Figure 1.2. Logo Ideation 2 (Week 5 - 6) |
While I was working on Task 2 and coming up with a campaign name, I worked on
some logos as well (see Figure 1.1.). I thought coming up with them together
could help ideate my logo and design direction better, it did not but it's a
learning curve I guess. I did not have a campaign name yet and it was harder
to think of a logo when my campaign name was not yet set.
After week 5, I had my campaign name confirmed as George Town Arts. I wanted
to push the acronym of GTA as well because I enjoyed that it was something
funny (to me, because Grand Theft Auto exists). Figure 1.2. shows my logo
ideations with my set campaign name. In most of them, I was trying to use
basic shapes because I wanted the idea of simple geometric shapes that came
from my Design Direction in Task 2 to be apparent in my logo as well. A few
ideas were left out of that just to experiment and explore, such as idea B and
K.
Idea B was based on the map of George Town, I had no idea George Town looked
like a dinosaur yawning. Idea D2 came from trying to replicate the
Golden Ratio composition to signify the art and design side of GTA. Idea
I was to represent where George Town is on the Malaysian map, the top left
corner, and the rectangle represents peninsular Malaysia. Idea L was to have
the shapes form a lowercase looptail 'g', uppercase 'T' and lowercase single
story 'a'. I personally preferred Idea A, F and I with it being simple and
easy to be carried across to a dynamic logo, which is something I wanted from
the very beginning.
Week 7
Attachment 1.1. Logo Progress 1 (Week 6 - 7)
I moved to digitizing the logos this week and coming up with patterns. I
underestimated the importance of the logo at this point in time as I did not
really spend much time on exploring with them. I was more interested with
creating my patterns to use as graphic elements and wanted to skip the logo
exploration phase. This slowed abit of my progress since my logo was still
unrefined.
Week 8
Attachment 1.2. Logo Progress 2.1 (Week 7 - 8)
Attachment 1.3. Logo Progress 2.2 (Week 7 - 8)
Attachment 1.4. Logo Progress 2.3 (Week 7 - 8)
Attachment 1.5. Logo Progress 2.4 (Week 7 - 8)
Attachment 1.6. Logo Progress 2.5 (Week 7 - 8)
Week 8 was Independent Learning Week and I focused a lot of my time in
catching up where I missed out the week before this, which was logo
exploration. I went back and fourth with Ms Lilian through messages to get
feedabck from here, along with feedback from my friends and sisters. From all
that, I was able to come up with quite a few explorations, variations and
slowly narrow them down and refine them further. By mid week of the ILW, I had
a few logo iterations that I quite liked and was happy with. Although getting
more feedback on exploring further, I was genuinely happy with what I had
already. It was a slow process of getting there but as I was pushed to keep
exploring, I was surprised with what I had ended up with (see Figure 2.1.
below for the ones I happily shortlisted).
Week 9

Figure 2.1. Logo Shortlist Choices (Week 8 - 9) |
Attachment 1.7. Logo Progress 3 (Week 8 - 9)
Attachment 1.8. Patterns Works 1 (Week 8 - 9)
It was a little hard for me to decide between the 6 iterations, my
friends and sisters were no help as everyone liked different ones.
However, my top 2 favourites were B20 and I58. I liked that with B20 the
circle that represented GTA was more apparent and involved with the
rectangle. I also liked that the rectangle box looked like a C and I had
an idea where I could remove the wordmark and place a capital 'H' in
it's place, making it stand for Creative Hub, which is what GTA was. But
when I tried that, it did not make any sense to my brand design
direction and scraped that easily.
I ended up going with I58 as I did like that the rectangle also somewhat
looked like a capital 'G' and my 'GTA' shapes carried more weight in the
logo compared to B20. I completely disregarded the other font
(Montserrat) tries as compared to Raleway font, it just did not work as
well, especially the 'w' for some reason just felt too thick and
distracting.
Ms Lilian also brought up a good point about logo B20 the week later,
saying that it was not an accurate representation of George Town's
geographical location to the Malaysian map, which is something that I
did not even think about but a I was lucky to have proceeded with I58
anyways.
It was also during this time that I decided to keep my logo as simple
black and white colours as I was working on my website at the same time.
When working on my website and trying to apply my logo, I realised that
it would be hard with colour due to my already extensive and bright
vibrant colour palette. I also realised that my logo did not work so
well in the website as it was abit of an odd placement and height for my
layout. So, I decided to come up with logo variations.
I came up with different variations for my logo, playing with the
logomark, logotype, wordmark and coming up with extended logos for the
dynamic aspect of my logo, as seen in Attachment 1.7. For the dynamic
extended logo, I replaced the circle that represented George Town with
different shapes to represent different things, like collaborations,
news and so on. The shapes I used came from playing with my patterns as
seen in Attachment 1.8. The patterns came mainly from my logomark
shapes.
Week 10
![]() |
Figure 2.2. Logo Extensions & Variations (Week 9 - 10) |
Attachment 1.9. Patterns Works 2 (Week 9 - 10)
I was recommended to stick to only the shapes of my logomark and not
introduce new shapes such as the other missing quarter to my circled 'G'
shape logotype. Also to stick with the more pointy sharp corner shapes since
my logomark is already pointy and has sharp corners. Since my website was
also using the secondary logo of the horizontal wordmark with logotype and
we could immediately see it being applied and used, there was feedback that
the heights of them paired together did not gell so well. So, I decreased
the size of the logotype shapes to better pair with the wordmark pt size. I
tried a slightly bigger and same height version just to test, the same
height version did end up looking better and more insync with each other
from a far away view.
Social Media Progression
Week 7
Attachment 2.1. Social Media Progress 1 (Week 6 - 7)
During week 7, before my ILW and full logo exploration, I decided to fast
forward and skip the logo explration. As I was focused on my patterns, I also
decided to move on to social media and test my patterns and layouts. I knew
from task 2 that I already wanted to work in a very modular grided system and
play around with layout and patterns. However, this did not help me much
during this time as again, I had underestimated the importance of my logo and
logo exploration.
Week 10 & 11
Attachment 2.2. Social Media Progress 2 (Week 9 - 10)
Attachment 2.3. Social Media Progress 3 (Week 10 - 11)
During Week 8 and 9, I did not touch my social media as after I was done
with my logo, I felt it was best to work on the website first for a better
visual understanding of how my design direction would turn out. Once I had
my website fairly good to go, I came back to social media and it allowed me
to design my social media posts easily, not only with layouts but content
wise as well.
Both week 10 and 11 I was working on fully filling in my social media
content as I was also working on it along with other touchpoints. It was
important to go at simultaneously as some of my content came from other
touchpoints, such as the bus map, or at times I just put more work into my
other touchpoints. I did this also mostly because I was thinking ahead to
get as much progress and feedback for other touchpoints. I did not wasnt to
get jammed later on in the coming weeks because I was just working on
my social media for too long, especially since I had already a pretty clear
idea of what I was doing with it.
Week 12
Attachment 2.4. Social Media Progress 4 (Week 11 - 12)
Although I was actually done with my social media by Week 11, I had to make
adjustments on it for Week 12 as well. It was mostly due to the map that I was
working on simultaneously as I had to make adjustments there. There was
also a minor change with the background colour for the last carousel.
Website Progression
Week 9
Attachment 3.1. Website Progression 1 (Week 8 - 9)
Once I finished my logo exploration during Week 8, I moved onto my website. I
did this because I needed a clear understanding of how my designs were going
to turn out. Although I had an idea of what I wanted, keeping it consistent in
a randomised way was going to be tough, especially with the usage of the extra
typefaces I wanted, images, patterns and so on.
I started with my homepage for the website and tried to add in all my elements
(patterns and type). However, it definitely was just not clicking together
well. I realised it was quite weird with the logomark, the web banner just
felt a little weird and the way I played with the typeface in the second web
banner would be odd or ridiculous once a picture is added in. And lastly, the
entire layout just was not doing anything for me.
So, I decided to go look for inspiration. I scrolled through Pinterest,
Behance, Dibble and a bunch of other random websites. I stumbled upon https://www.nyctourism.com/ and thought it was a really simple layout that still looked really
interesting. It ended up being a major reference for me in terms of layout as
it very much followed a grid system yet was able to play around. I replicated
the first banner displayed and realised it was a smart and easy way to play
with my colours, type and image.
My next problem however was my images as I already had an extensive colour
palette and I also wanted to collaborate with and promote a bunch of other
businesses and events, making images and photography much more complicated
when placing them into my website. I referred back to my Task 2 design
direction and my Pinterest board for this module and realised there was a very
simple answer to it, making it b&w, just like my logo. I also took
inspiration from one of my references in my moodboard where it played with a
b&w image and patterns. I realised to properly play with patterns and take
images from collaborative businesses, it would be easier and more visully
consistent and interesting, to work with some transparency along with my
patterns.
Week 10 & 11
Attachment 3.2. Website Progression 2 (Week 9 - 10)
Attachment 3.3. Website Progression 3 (Week 10 - 11)
During Week 10, I added a few more pictures in as well as adjusted my
patterns used to be the newer designed patterns that utilised more sharp
edges and only derived from my existing shapes in the logomark. To be
honest, I did not have much progress to show during Week 10 as I was busy
during Week 9 with my extracurricular where I was incharge of organising a
weeklong event for the magazine club. So my work kind of slowed down during
this week due to me having a lil too many things on my plate.
Week 11, I had to really pick up the pace again since I did not want to get
dragged too behind after my slow Week 10. So I made sure to fill in all I
can to finish up the website but then realised I needed to work on my other
touchpoints as well to fully finish up my website. I did what I could for
Week 11 and moved onto other touchpoints, moving away from my website. I
didn't fully finish my website until Week 13 before submission as I had to
wrap up the other touchpoints nicely into mockups and turn em into
b&w before adding them into my website.
Interestingly enough though, throughout the next few weeks that I did not
work on my website, the AI file for my website was always opened when I was
working on other touchpoints because I did end up using it as my key visual.
Whenever I was working on other touchpoints, I always came back to my
website and social media to cross check design direction and keep things
consistent somehow.
(P.S. Ignore the logo in the footers of Attachment 3.3. because I messed up
when exporting the pdf and never got around to exporting the fixed version
until I submitted the final outcome)
Promo Video Progression
Week 11 & 12
Video 1.1. Video Progression 1 (Week 10 - 11)
Video 1.1. Video Progression 2 (Week 11 - 12)
Ms Lilian kept asking me to work on my promotional video and I kept brushing
it off because I was not looking forward to it since I have never been a big
fan of video editing. Finally during Week 11, I decided to finally suck it
up and get it done. I spent two full days working on it as finding footage,
stitching them together, working on kinetic type was quite time consuming.
I also realised that I worked in a very weird funny system. I dumped my
videos into Premiere Pro and was adjusting and stitching up my videos there
but at the same time as I went second by second, beat by beat, I worked in
AE with my kinetic type. I needed to know just how long my kinetic type
animations would be in order to place the next video clip at the right time.
And when I exported my kinetic type from AE, I would place it into Premiere
Pro, stitch up new few clips, go back to AE and work on next kinetic type,
drop it into Premiere Pro and do that back and fourth till the end of the
video. Once I was done with stitching up my kinetic type and video clips, I
exported it from Premiere Pro and dumped it into a new AE file and worked on
the patterns in the video. For this part, I worked with AE and AI as I was
shifting and adjusting my patterns in AI then exporting them and
placing them into AE. Once that was done, the result was Video
Progression 1. I know it's a very interestingly weird back and fourth
process but it worked for me.
During Week 12 I made some changes to the video and played around with the
patterns more as suggested during feedback. This was fairly quick as it only
took me 2 half days to work on it (so technically 1 working day) and I was
able to work on other touchpoints right after.
Environmental Ads Progression
Week 11
Attachment 4.1. Map Progressions 1 (Week 10 - 11)
My first environmental ad I worked on was the bus map as I was working
on my social media at the same time and one of the Instagram post
content required the bus map. From my Pinterest board of references, I
had a few ideas of how the map could look like but I wanted something
inline with my current designs and something fast, so it had to be
fairly simple. I came up with a few iterations and reached a stage that
was the best at the moment to place into the Instagram post.
Week 12

|
|
Attachment 4.2. Map Progression 3 & Environmental Items (Week 12 - 13)
This week, since I was mostly wrapping up all my touchpoints, I worked on
the last few pieces to my environmental items. I also reworked on the bus
map as it was suggested to change the colour to be less... puke-y. I
realised that my social media used the bus map on a pink background and it
worked quite well as it felt more vibrant and pleasing to look at. So,
easy enough, I followed through with the bus map for my environmental ads
touchpoint as well.
I also came up with the billboard ad as I had originally wanted different
campaigns for other billboards and posters. However, with time constraint
and stressing over my app, I limited myself to 1 billboard to just have
the visual and idea of the possibility of other campaign ads. The
billboard ad was a more CTA type as it redirects viewers to the website
(which is a reminder to how important website URLs are to be easy, short
and catchy). Since Task 1, it was obvious how important the website was to
the campaign as this touchpoint was carried across multiple customer
journey stages and when designing my website, not only did I work on the
UI, I was careful and thoughtul with my UX as well. So, it made more sense
to me to redirect people to the website instead of the common redirection
for brands is to social media. Especially since the website covers ALL
areas of my brand and can further redirect people to other platforms,
collaborations, events, collateral and so on.
My road signage was pretty straight forward as it's to ensure people don't
get lost in GTA. I also wanted the road signage to point to a bus stop as
conveniency of moving around the city was an important aspect to the GTA
brand. So it was important to show which way the nearest bus stop is.
From Task 2, I originally had another environmental ad planned which was
small items painted onto the roads/walkways to be some fun guerrilla ads.
However, with time constraints and needing to finish up all my touchpoints
and slides for submission, I had to leave that out as it would take up
more time to think of how exactly I would do it and the contents/contexts
of it.
Collateral Progression
Week 11
Attachment 5.1. Welcoming Kit - Zine Progression 1 (Week 10 - 11)
The Welcoming Zine is my most important collateral, so I worked on it
before even thinking any other collateral item. This was also when I
realised I had partially neglected the app a little too much. I did
not forget about it, I simply ignored it and it was when I was working
on my zine, I realised how very screwed I was.
My zine at this stage was still in an early stage but I had already
planned out what the content will be and the rough layout of it. I
again, went back and fourth with referencing my website and social
media to keep things a little consistent in terms of layout, colour
usage and so on. I also realised that I never really tried to play
around with my many other suggested decorational typefaces from Task
2. So I figured to try one new one out here. (it did not land well but
that's alright)
Week 12
Attachment 5.2. Welcoming Kit - Zine Progression 2 (Week 11 - 12)
Attachment 5.3. Collateral Progressions 1 (Week 11 - 12)
I moved a little further with my zine the next week as I was filling in my
content and working on the app mostly at this stage. From feedback the
previous week, it was also suggested to use more of the decorational
typefaces for extra texture and crowd. Ms Lilian suggested me to keep it
to 2-3 typefaces from my extensive list from Task 2. I had mostly already
used 2 typefaces in my social media and website and added in the 3rd that
she had suggested. I quite liked how it looked and added a loud fun noisy
texture to my spreads.
This week I also worked on my other collaterals. I was super happy working
on them because they were so easy to work on, with the guitar strap being
a little bit of the exception to that sentence. The guitar strap was not
exactly challenging to work on, just the hardest compared to the others
since there was no free mockup file for guitar straps. I took a random
image from google and just warped the perspective myself in PSD.
My decorational tape was the most fun to work with as I could not just
stop at 1 or 2, I had to do 3 to cover the brand's primary colours and
atleast have some variation of the patterns :)
The sketchbook was the least fun to work on (that's my own fault for not
giving it more variation but oh well). I had 2 other tests before the
version seen in Attachment 5.3. (but I'm lazy to resave it for this
upload) and chose to go with this one because it was the best of all.
My postcards was a little more interesting to work on, as seen since I
came up with 3 different sets. The first set was purely aesthetic reasons
as I personally enjoy collecting postcards to stick on my wall as
decoration, so the idea was to have the patterns and cityscape images be
pretty to look at and acts as GTA brand awareness. The 2nd set was to give
people the space to be creative and somewhat make their own postcard. The
third set was a purely photographic set as it could be photo collections
from past events. It would also be to promote GTA and it's events while
encouraging the recipient to be a part of the GTA community as well (FOMO
is real, trust me).
Week 13
Attachment 5.4. Welcoming Kit - Zine Progression 3 (Week 12 - 13)
Attachment 5.5. Collateral Progressions 2 (Week 12 - 13)
This week, I was wrapping up all my touchpoints, including my zine. I was
a little conflicted with the last spread of my zine. I had two different
layouts for the last spread. The first felt a little too messy for my
liking as my eyes would just move around too much around the spread. So, I
came up with the second spread layout, which was more easy on the eyes and
organised. However, I was not sure if everything in the center would fit
with the rest of my layouts as I consistently have had my text frames in
the outer corner of the spreads. The only time I broke that system was for
the 'About GTA' spread due to making it fit in the grids in an organised
manner. From feedback, it was a good to go though :)
I finished up my other collaterals as well. I was left with the items for
the welcoming kit new residents can receive and adjusting my postcards.
For the postcards, it was suggested to decrease the pt size for the text
and stick to the patterned borders.
The other collateral's I worked on was the totebag and pins. I came up
with a few designs for both but found my first design for the tote my
favourite. I liked how it was simple and straightforward, which I
personally feel is more wearable for a totebag. I had a hard time picking
just 1 pin as I liked the 2nd, 3rd and 5th ones. After feedback, there was
only a minor adjustment to be made with the 2nd pin and even after, I
couldn't choose just 1. So, I kept all 3, pushing 2 of them to purchasable
collateral while 1 remained as part of the free welcoming kit.
From my original plans during Task 2, I had to leave out 2 collaterals,
the 1 poster calendar and stamps. Although the stamps would have not taken
long at all, I was really cutting it close with time and had to make the
sad decision to leave these items out.
App Progression
Week 12
Attachment 6.1. Icons Progression 1 (Week 11 - 12)
Attachment 6.2. App Progression 1 (Week 11 - 12)
I was late to start on my app redesign because I really let myself neglect
it too much. It also does not help that I have never designed an app
before, so by the time I started it, I knew I was doomed. I was designing
the home page and searching for free icons online but then realised that
it might end up looking weird and different. So I decided to design my own
icons from my logomark but of course, that just meant more time consuming
work.
I was able to design some icons, I referenced existing icons from online,
the current Penang Smart Parking App, the Johor version of the app, and
other apps like banks and e-wallets. These other apps also helped me with
layout and the UX flow of the app. Although I was not very happy with the
app, there was only so much I could do at this moment of time.
Week 13
![]() |
Figure 4.1. Icons Progression 2 (Week 12 - 13) |
Attachment 6.3. App Progression 2 (Week 12 - 13)
From feedback the previous week, I redesigned some icons to be less
accurate and descriptive and be a little bit more simplistic and fun.
Although I reworked quite a few of them, I ended up sticking with some of
the icons from the previous week as I felt some of them still worked
better context wise.
As for the app redesign itself, I reworked some pages and worked on the
Transfer page as well but I was truly unhappy with how some of them looked
as it did not feel that it was good enough yet. Though again, time
constraint only allowed me to go so far with it. Thankfully Ms Lilian told
me that if I just showed the decent 3-4 pages, it's good enough.
Final Submission
GTA Slides
Attachment 7.1. Final Compilation Slides (Week 13)
FEEDBACK
Week 6
Logo Progression
Figure 1.2. Logo Ideation 2
- Set I with Set A combined might be interesting. Concept is good and
simple while being great for dynamicness
- Together can use them differently across different applications
- Set L is visually interesting and eye catching while having a strong
concept with the different shapes and flow, representing different arts
- Set L can try to have the dots similar to the ‘T’ bar form to be more
integrated. Right now the dots look like an afterthought
- Set F is also interesting and could be used dynamically. Could have
different styles for the ‘G’, ‘T’ and ‘A’. It can also be extracted as
patterns and such.
- Can move forward with Set I+A and L as they are conceptually and
visually decent, just need a bit more adjusting
- Digitise logos
- Work on other visuals
Week 7
Logo Progression
Attachment 1.1. Logo Progress 1
- Not enough exploration with logo forms
- Try different typefaces or placements of ‘GTA’ shape letters
- Try different sizes of the box to look less like Nat Geo
- Can use different shapes instead of letters to represent GT location
- Other GTA logo could have been explored more too with the form
- Explore more with the logo
Week 8
Logo Progression
Attachment 1.2. Logo Progress 2.1 - Attachment 1.6. Logo
Progress 2.5
- Try I1 with a full circle
- Reduce wordmark size. Keep the fonts as either montserrat or raleway
- Keep circle as georgetown representation and use symbols as ‘GTA’
- Rationalisation of logo needs to be more apparent, especially for
wordmark
- For the shapes, try unrounded edges to match the rectangle peninsular
frame
- Try removing the thin stroke in I12
- Consistently try every iteration with both typefaces
- Try B14 without the Penang island dot infringing on the frame
Week 9
Logo Progression
Attachment 1.7. Logo Progress 3 & Attachment 1.8. Patterns
Works 1
- Keep any shape usage as the core 4 shapes from my logo
- For wordmark logo, try ‘GTA’ shapes to be same size as ‘eorge own rts’
Website Progression
Attachment 3.1. Website Progression 1
- Current pictures in the website are decent, especially the choice to
go with b&w with some patterns. - - Try adding more pics though to
see if it would work everywhere else
- B&W logo is a decent choice since I already have an extensive
brand colour palette
- The text decoration in ‘about’ page is ok but see how it plays out
when used consistently across all pages
- Don’t leave promo video to the last minute or i might just regret it
Week 10
Logo Progression
Attachment 1.9. Patterns Works 2
- Patterns are good to go. The new ones are better since its more inline
with logo
Figure 2.2. Logo Extensions & Variations
- New wordmark logo with ‘GTA’ shapes being same size is much better
Website Progression
Attachment 3.2. Website Progression 2
- Patterns are good to go. The new ones are better since its more inline
with logo
- Finish up website
Social Media Progression
noot
- Social media looks alright so far at least because its inline with art
direction
- Finish up social media
General Feedback
- Promo video needs to also reflect art direction
- Video can be in b&w with coloured text. Maybe some frames in between
shots where its just coloured background with some text too
- Start promo video
- Start collateral and other touchpoints
Week 11
Collateral Progression
Attachment 5.1. Welcoming Kit - Zine Progression 1
- The zine is currently a bit too simple and empty looking. I can try
to use my extra typefaces as decoration all around and be more playful
with it.
- Shortlisted my many extra typefaces to 3-4 (including the 2 already
used in social media and website)
- Work on the main collateral and scrap the calendar idea if there's
no time. If there is extra time, work on it later
- Finish up the zine
Promo Video Progression
Video 1.1. Video Progression 1
- Promo video is ok and shows my direction but can still be more fun
and playful with use of my patterns on the B&W footage (like done
with the eye opening scene)
- Don't morph the text because that’s not done anywhere else in my
designs
- The sabahan dance scene was too long and not completely accurate to
George Town
- Rework a bit of the promo video
Environmental Ads Progression
Attachment 4.1. Map Progressions 1
- For the map, direction arrows can be 50% smaller so it’s not
fighting for attention with the numbered stations
- Work on the other environmental ads
Week 12
Collateral Progression
Attachment 5.3. Collateral Progressions 1
- Postcard set 1 is good
- Postcard set 2 and 3 header is a bit too big
- Postcard set 2, don't use the line border, use my patterns
Environmental Ads Progression
Figure 3.1. Map Progression 2 & Figure 3.1. Bus Stop Ad
& Map
- Map needs to change colours. Especially when placed into bus stop
mockup
App Progression
Attachment 6.2. App Progression 1 & Attachment 6.1.
Icons Progression 1
- App icons can be simplified and less detailed/realistic looking
- Just use plain white for app background
Promo Video Progression
Video 1.1. Video Progression 2
- Good to go
General Feedback
- Some IG posts need logo, esp carousel ones
- Finish up zine
- Finish up website
- Finish up collateral & environmental ads
- Touch up on existing collateral & environmental ads
- Start slides for submission
Week 13
App Progression
Attachment 6.3. App Progression 2 & Figure 4.1. Icons
Progression 2
- New app icons are better
- Don't have to do all the screens for the app, just show the ones I
like and look good. The 3-4 visually complete ones are good enough
(Page 1-3 & 9)
Collateral Progression
Attachment 5.4. Welcoming Kit - Zine Progression 3
- For the zine pg 20-23, either spread is ok. Pages 22-23 is ok since
the centred placed text layout was introduced in the ‘About GTA’
spread
Attachment 5.5. Collateral Progressions 2
- Agreed that Pin 1 definitely a no-go, Pin 2 is a bit “hmm”. Try
change background to a lighter colour
- Pin 3 and 5 are nice. 4 is decent but the square in 5 is nicer
- Adjusted postcards are much better
- Tote 2 is okay. If I remove the decoration text (as I suggested), it
might look too plain
- Tote 3 is a nono. Tote 1 is the best, just go with that
Environmental Ads Progression

negative space nicely
- Road sign is nice
General Feedback
- Remember to share all my progressions into the Google Drive
- Do up slides for submission
- Put everything into mockups nicely
REFLECTION
Experience
Although it was a little hard to start, it was a genuinely enjoyable
assignment. I think it's safe to say that I enjoy branding and small
aspects of marketing. It was interesting because I was doing things that I
did not realise touched into UIUX but it was instinctive for me that there
should be thought and care put into these things such as the website and
app. There were moments where I felt stuck, demotivated and tired of the
work but It was motivating to watch my friends who were continuously
working really hard. Not only were they working on it alot, you could see
they were happy and having fun with what they were doing, and I found that
motivating and inspiring to get my own work to that point of happiness.
Observations
Similarly with my BCI experience, I struggle with designing, exploring
and reaching the best logo. It really is just a mindset issue though
because I'd rather not go through the exhaustive process of coming up
with a logo, so I end up avoiding it, only to have it bite me in the ass
later on. Although I am mostly happy and proud of what I was able to
come up with at the end, I'm sad that I had to omit a few touchpoints
due to time constraints because I was really looking forward to having
seeing some of these other items like a map of GTA locations, the
calendar and the stamps.
Findings
From the struggles I faced with my logo, I realised that it's not
impossible to come up with a simple logo that I am genuinely happy
with, I just need to put as much thought and effort into it as I do
with other things. I'm also seeing more and more of what my friends
refer to as 'my style' in my works, I still have no idea how to
describe it, but I can see it.
