REFLECTION
Experience
I enjoyed this entire module as the assignments were interesting and fun despite the tediousness that generally comes with typography. I have always found typography a dull and dry subject but surprisngly, I even enjoyed the lecture videos. Particularly Lecture Video 3 - Context & Creativity, which is odd considering it was the longest video in the Lecture Playlist. I enjoyed that we were encouraged to not always put so much focus on the Western's and take in more of our Asian culture and history. The passion that was expressed by the lecturer made this module all the more enjoyable for me, just as Emma Stone said in La La Land, "People love what other people are passionate about".

Observations
From Task 2 & 3, I began to realise that as a designer, I do tend to have a style. People have always told me "You can tell it's your work because it's very much your style", and I never quite understood what exactly they saw that made "my style". However, during Task 2 & 3, when I reused some of my older works because "they just fit", that's when I realised I do actually have a style. I still have yet to figure out how to describe it, but I am finally beginning to see it. Discovering who I am as a designer is definitely something new I am looking forward to. Who knows, it may even help my internal conflict of not knowing who I truly am as a person.

Findings
I believe I have grown more as a designer from this module compared to modules of my previous semesters and even the 3 other modules I am taking this semester. It is not to say that I have not learnt anything from my other modules but Advanced Typography has definitely made a big impact in my journey to become a designer. Although typography remains to be a part of design I will always struggle with and have mixed feelings for, I do hope to continously improve my typographic senses. This module has reminded me that I need to keep more of an open mind in order to appreciate, learn and grow as a person and especially as a designer.
